Abstract

A ventilation system includes a processor in communication with a mechanical ventilator and a user interface comprising a quick start mode for allowing an individual to operate the system with little or no respiratory care expertise until a respiratory care practitioner can take over operation is disclosed. The ventilation system further includes a function that permits seamless transition between modes of operation.
