Abstract

An image reading device includes light guides () that emit light to an object to be read, a lens body () that condenses reflected light, a light receiver () that receives the reflected light, a sensor board () on which is mounted the light receiver (), a lens holder (), and a housing () that houses or holds these components. The lens holder () includes a holder bottom (), light guide positioners () and lens body holders (). In the lens holder (), the lens body () is attached between the lens body holders (), the sensor board () is attached to the holder bottom () such that the light receiver () aligns with an optical axis of the lens body (), and the light guides () are attached to the light guide positioners (). A surface of each light guide positioner () that faces the corresponding light guide () to be attached has at least a portion having a same shape a s a shape of a surface of the light guide.
