Abstract
A device () is used to cushion at least one object () in a container (). According to the invention, the device comprises: an automatic reading device () for reading an item of information which is present on the container () and relates to a predetermined amount of cushioning material (-) for a predefined combination of container () and object (); a cushioning material provisioning device () for providing cushioning material (-); and a control device () which receives a signal, based on the item of read information, from the automatic reading device () and initiates supply of the corresponding cushioning material (-).
