Abstract

Provided is an ion analyzer characterized by: an ionization chamber () to be maintained at atmospheric pressure; an analysis chamber () for analyzing an ion generated in the ionization chamber (); a vacuum pump () for evacuating the inside of the analysis chamber (); a capillary () for allowing the ionization chamber () and the analysis chamber () to communicate with each other; a conductance changer () for changing the conductance of the capillary (); and a controller () for operating the conductance changer () in such a manner as to decrease the conductance of the capillary () when the degree of vacuum in the analysis chamber () is lower than a predetermined degree of vacuum.
