Abstract

A liquid chromatograph includes a column, a liquid sending unitconfigured to send a mobile phase to the columnat a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, a first pipehaving one end connected to an outlet of the column, and a second pipehaving one end connected to an end face at the other end of the first pipewith a connection gap sandwiched between the one end of the second pipe and end face, the second pipehaving the other end disposed in an ionization chamberhaving a pressure less than or equal to atmospheric pressure. The liquid chromatograph charges a component of a sample contained in a liquid flowing out from the columnby applying voltage to the connection gap, and inner diameters and lengths of the first pipeand the second pipeare determined such that the liquid flowing out from the columnpasses through the connection gap while maintaining pressure greater than or equal to a saturated vapor pressure of the mobile phase.
