Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a pre-5-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Disclosed is a method of operating a device in a communication system. The method includes: configuring a threshold parameter for data transmission/reception based on at least one of an application characteristic, a network utilization, and a network speed; and controlling data transmission/reception with a network based on the threshold parameter The threshold parameter is relevant to at least one of an amount of data, which can be received by the proxy device and an amount of data which can be transmitted by the proxy device.
