A mixing apparatus, comprising a drive unit () with a drive () and a shaft () which is pivotable about a pivot axis (A) and which is operatively connected to the drive (), a pivot receptacle () which is arranged on the shaft (), wherein the pivot axis (A) is substantially horizontally aligned, wherein the pivot receptacle () comprises a base () on which receptacles () are provided which extend away from the base () and into which holders () for containers () are insertable.
