Abstract
A hand vacuum cleaner having a dirt collection chamber that is external to the cyclone chamber, wherein the dirt collection chamber is positioned above the cyclone chamber when the hand vacuum cleaner is oriented with the upper end of the hand vacuum cleaner above the lower end of the hand vacuum cleaner.
