Abstract

The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of a tampon () having at least one absorbent body made from an absorbent material (), the tampon () having a proximal end () and a distal end () and a middle part extending between the distal end and the proximal end, as well as an extraction means () connected to the absorbent body and situated at the distal end (), and the tampon has a covering made from a nonwoven material (), which, with the exception of a pass-through opening () for the extraction means (), completely covers at least the distal end (), by which the escaping of fibers at the distal end () is prevented, and the covering additionally forming a protection against the fluid leakage.
