Abstract

A cable adapter () for collecting and forwarding analog signals from a plurality of sensors () in a motor vehicle (), in particular brake lining wear sensors of a utility vehicle disc brake, has first and second signal input terminals () for connecting the cable adapter () to sensors () and for receiving signal currents (). The cable adapter () has a signal output terminal for connecting the cable adapter () to an electronic control unit () of the motor vehicle () and switching electronics () that are configured to transmit the first and second signal currents (') to the signal output terminal () at a predetermined rhythm.
