Abstract

Provided is a technique allowing a screen of a display device to be harmonized with a housing of the display device or an environment surrounding the display device, while an image is not displayed. A display device () includes: a display section () which displays an image; and a background section () which is provided on a front surface side of the display section (), the background section () having a plurality of openings () through which light, emitted from the display section () for display of the image, passes.
