Abstract
A vehicle control device () includes a recognition unit () that is configured to recognize a surrounding situation of a subject vehicle that is able to be automatically driven, and a control unit () that is configured to perform a predetermined operation with respect to a cause of obstruction to traffic of a traffic participant due to a predetermined contact of the subject vehicle in a case that the recognition unit recognizes that the predetermined contact of the subject vehicle has occurred, and the control unit differentiates an operation that is executed in a case that it is recognized that an occupant is not onboard the subject vehicle from an operation that is executed in a case that it is recognized that the occupant is onboard the subject vehicle.
