Abstract
One aspect of the disclosure provides a method for a wireless communications network. The method comprises obtaining a first data unit for storage in a packet queue; determining a type of data carried by the first data unit; and re-determining timer values for respective discard timers associated with the one or more data units stored in the packet queue. The timer values are re-determined as a function of the determined type of data carried by the first data unit.
