Abstract
A pen needle outer cover () has a molded plastic distal cover (), and a molded plastic proximal cover () in place of the conventional paper-foil label. The proximal cover () may be snap-fit over the opening of the distal cover (). A user-separable section () with a finger pull tab () is defined by a reduced-thickness membrane (), which functions as a tear line to allow that section () to at least partially separate from the proximal cover (). A living hinge () may be provided to keep the user-separable section () from completely separating from the proximal cover (). The finger pull tab () may be configured to enable re-covering of a pen needle () that is still within the outer cover ().
