Abstract

The present invention addresses the problem of providing an α-gel formation composition and an α-gel composition that uses the α-gel formation composition, wherein said compositions are highly stable, do not deposit crystals, become more viscous over time, and, when used in a preparations for external use, are refreshing during application and have high skin-moisturizing action after application. A gel composition that includes a polyoxyethylene dialkyl ester and/or a polyoxyethylene dialkyl ether, a polyoxyethylene alkyl ester and/or a polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, and, preferably, a polyoxyethylene sterol ether and water.
