Abstract
A halogenated α-fluoroether of the formula (2) (where HaloR represents haloalkyl; Rrepresents hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or substituted alkyl; and Rrepresents alkyl or substituted alkyl) is produced efficiently on an industrial scale by reacting a halogenated aldehyde of the formula (1) (where HaloR represents haloalkyl) or an equivalent thereof with hydrogen fluoride.
