Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a pre-5.sup.th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4.sup.th-Generation (4G) communication system such as long term evolution (LTE). Provided is a method for processing System Information (SI) by a User Equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system. The method includes receiving, from a first base station (BS), information related to change of SI; and waiting for reception of changed SI based on the information.
