Abstract

A device () for printing labels () by means of thermal printing using a thermal head (), which has a thermal strip (), having a counter-pressure element carrier (), which has a counter-pressure element (), wherein an insertion gap () is formed between the thermal strip () and the counter-pressure element (), through which the label () to be printed in each case can be guided, wherein the thermal head () is fastened in a movable manner on a thermal head carrier () and wherein the thermal strip () is pressed with a predetermined contact pressure against the counter-pressure element (). To reduce the operating costs, the counter-pressure element () is movable relative to the insertion gap (). A method for printing labels () using the device () is also disclosed.
