Abstract

A display device is provided in embodiments of the disclosure relating to the field of display technology, the display device including: a liquid crystal display panel; and an organic electroluminescent display panel provided opposite to the liquid crystal display panel and configured to function as a backlight source for the liquid crystal display panel; the liquid crystal display panel has a display region defined therein, and comprises a plurality of pixel units arranged in an array and located in the display region, each of the plurality of pixel units comprising a plurality of sub-pixel units; the organic electroluminescent display panel has a light-emitting region defined therein and opposite to the display region, and comprises a plurality of light-emitting units arranged in an array and located in the light-emitting region, each of the plurality of light-emitting units comprising a plurality of light-emitting sub-units; and an area of each of the plurality of sub-pixel units is smaller than an area of a corresponding one of the plurality of light-emitting sub-units at least overlapping therewith.
