Abstract
An object of the present invention is to provide a chain and a chain transmission device capable of reducing sliding resistance of the chain to a guide lip portion and stably maintaining an oil film between the guide lip portion and an outer plate. Provided is a chainwherein a plurality of link platesandinclude outer plates, each of the outer plateshas a pair of front and rear pin holesinto which connecting pinsare inserted, a guide-side end surfacethat faces a traveling guide surfaceside of a chain guide, and a contact convex portionthat protrudes from an outer surface of the outer plate, and the contact convex portionis formed in an area between the pin holesand the guide-side end surfacein a plate height direction.
