Abstract
An electronic device () is configured to receive one or more wireless signals from one or more beacon systems (-). The one or more wireless signals identify the one or more beacon systems. The electronic device is further configured to identify local beacon systems (-) which are present in the same area as the electronic device, e.g. from a manual configuration, determine a quantity of the local beacon systems and/or locations of the local beacon systems, and provide one or more location-based functions based on the one or more wireless signals in dependence on the quantity of the local beacon systems and/or the locations of the local beacon systems.
