Abstract
The disclosure provides an electrowetting device in which a sealing material is formed with satisfactory precision while maintaining a good adhesive property between both substrates. In a first hydrophobic layer () and a second hydrophobic layer (), opening patterns (, and) are provided, and an active substrate () and a common electrode substrate () are bonded together with a sealing material () provided in the opening patterns (, and) such that a space is formed between the active substrate () and the common electrode substrate ().
