Abstract

The invention relates to a people conveyor drive () of a people conveyor () comprising a plurality of treads () interconnected to form an endless tread band (). The people conveyor drive () comprises a tension member drive system () configured for driving the endless tread band (), and a shaft () having a shaft main portion () and at least one shaft support portion (). The at least one shaft support portion () is supported by at least one shaft bearing () to be rotatable around a shaft axis (A). The shaft () is configured for engaging with an endless tread drive tension member (). The shaft () has a split shaft configuration in which the shaft main portion () is detachably coupled to the at least one shaft support portion ().
