Abstract

A device wirelessly communicating over a wireless network may adjust a threshold from a network-configured value to a new value in response to a performance characteristic of an application executing on the device not meeting a specified metric, for example in response to the application experiencing a latency greater than a specified latency value. The threshold may be associated with a measurement event configured by the wireless network, and the device may use the new value for the threshold when performing measurements on wireless channel conditions of the wireless network. When adjusting the threshold, the device may adjust the threshold once per application session of the application, and/or once per current radio resource control (RRC) connection before the wireless network releases the current RRC connection. Furthermore, the device may adjust the threshold only if the network-configured value associated with the measurement event is greater than a specified threshold value.
