Abstract
The invention relates to a management unit () and a method for operating such a unit in a Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) installation. The management unit () comprises at least one first port () to which an external device () can be connected, and it is adapted to control the power delivered at a first port () in dependence on predetermined switching rules.
