Abstract

A method (S) for manufacturing a part () out of a metal matrix composite material, including the following steps: opening (S) a device () that includes a supporting portion () and a molding portion (); placing (S) a fibrous reinforcement into the device (); sealably closing (S) the device () by providing a space between the fibrous reinforcement () and the device portions; feeding (S) the molten metal matrix () into the device () such as to fill the space between the fibrous reinforcement () and the device portions (); and applying (S) a force onto the equipment () such as to impregnate the fibrous reinforcement () with the metal matrix ().
