Abstract

The invention relates to a devicefor positioning an edging rollof an edging stand, comprising an edging frameto which at least one balancing cylinderis attached, a balancing crossbeamwith a drive sidepositioned opposite of the edging frame, and a working sidepositioned opposite of the drive side, wherein a bearing devicefor the edging rollcan be attached, in particular in an interlocking manner, to the balancing crossbeamon the working sidethereof and at least one linkageis provided on the drive sidethereof, by which linkage the balancing cylinderis in an operative connection with the balancing crossbeam, and at least one positioning cylinderattached to the edging framecan be brought into an operative connection with the bearing device () in the direction of a rolled material in order to position the edging rollagainst the rolled material, wherein the compressive force generated by the positioning cylinderacts on the bearing devicealong an operational axis, which either intersects with the at least one linkageby which the balancing cylinderis operatively connected with the balancing crossbeamor runs directly alongside this linkage
