Abstract

A composition (d) includes (per 100% of its weight): a) 90 wt.-% to 99.0 wt.-% water including, in dissolved form, 0.002 mol/L to 0.1 mol/L of at least one salt of ammonium cation or of a monovalent or multivalent metal cation with an organic or inorganic anion; b) 0.5 wt.-% to 5 wt.-% of at least one crosslinked anionic polyelectrolyte; and c) 0.5 wt.-% to 5 wt.-% of at least one compound having formula (II), where the weight ratio of the crosslinked anionic polyelectrolyte to the compound of formula (II) is greater than or equal to 0.2 and less than or equal to 2.0, and the molar ratio of the compound of formula (II) to the salt is greater than or equal to 0.05 and less than or equal to 1. Also disclosed is the composition in cosmetics and to a method for lightening the thickened salt-rich composition.
