Abstract
Systems and methods for low or zero touch provisioning of a network element through a Network Address Translation (NAT) gateway are implemented via a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) Relay Agent operating at the NAT gateway. The process includes receiving a DHCP packet with optiondata from one of the network element and a DHCP server; modifying addressing and the optiondata of the DHCP packet based on whether the receiving was from the network element or the DHCP server; and forwarding the modified DHCP packet to one of the network element and the DHCP server based on the receiving.
