Abstract
Provided are a method for manufacturing wavelength conversion members that enables manufacturing of wavelength conversion members having a high light extraction efficiency and suppression of material loss, a wavelength conversion member obtained by the method, and a light-emitting device. A method for manufacturing a plurality of wavelength conversion members by breaking into parts a base materialfor the wavelength conversion members includes the steps of: preparing the base materialhaving a first principal surfaceand a second principal surfaceopposed to each other; forming a breaking groovein the first principal surface; bonding a supportto the second principal surfaceof the base materialhaving the breaking grooveformed in the first principal surface; pressing through the supporta region of the base materialwhere the breaking grooveis formed, thus breaking the base materialinto the plurality of wavelength conversion members along the breaking groove; expanding the supportto form a gap between the plurality of wavelength conversion members lying on the support; and removing the plurality of wavelength conversion members from the supportafter forming the gap.
