Abstract

A system that incorporates the subject disclosure may obtain operational capability and state information for at least one communication devices, and provide a usage profile to the communication devices to enable each to adjust a group of device personas, each controlling a function of a group of functions performed by one of the group of communication devices. The system may generate a first device persona based on presence information, operational capability information, other usage profiles of the group of communication devices, and state information, wherein operation of a second communication device of the group is based at least in part on the first device persona. A conflict may be identified between a first function and another function of the group of functions, based on an adjustment to the first device persona and the system may communication with the second communication device to resolve the conflict. Other embodiments are disclosed.
