Abstract
A zoom lens includes in order from an object side, a first lens unit having a negative refractive power, a second lens unit having a positive refractive power, a third lens unit having a negative refractive power, and a fourth lens unit having a positive refractive power. At the time of zooming, distances between lenses vary. A distance between the first lens unit and the second lens unit becomes smaller at a telephoto end than at a wide angle end, and a distance between the second lens unit and the third lens unit becomes longer at the telephoto end than at the wide angle end, and the following conditional expressions (1), (2), and (3) are satisfied:0.4<|1|/|2|<1.2  (1)0.3<2/1<0.95  (2)0.6<<1  (3).
