Abstract

The invention relates to a lens () for vision correction, wherein the lens () is particularly configured to be placed directly on the surface of an eye () of a person, wherein the lens () further comprises: a transparent base element () having a back side (), and a front side () facing away from the back side (), a transparent and elastically expandable membrane () connected to said base element (), wherein said membrane () comprises a back side () that faces said front side () of the base element (), a ring member () connected to said back side () of the membrane () so that the ring member () defines a curvature-adjustable area () of the membrane (), and wherein the lens () comprises a lens volume () adjacent said curvature-adjustable area () of the membrane (), which lens volume () is delimited by the ring member (), and wherein the lens () comprises a reservoir volume () arranged in a boundary region () of the lens (), wherein said two volumes () are each filled with a transparent liquid (), and a pumping means () configured to transfer transparent liquid () from the reservoir volume () to the lens volume () such that the curvature of said curvature-adjustable area () of the membrane () increases and the focal length of the lens () decreases, and optionally a rigid support structure () that is configured to reduce or prevent compression of the reservoir volume () when an eyelid of the user rests on said boundary region () of the lens.
