Abstract

An anode for lithium secondary battery includes a current collector and an anode active material layer including an anode active material and being formed on the current collector. The anode active material includes a core containing an artificial graphite and a shell formed on a surface of the core, the shell containing an amorphous carbon. An average of a Raman R value of the anode active material layer is in a range from 0.5 to 0.65, and a standard deviation of the Raman R value is less than 0.22. The Raman R value is defined as a ratio (I/I) of a D band intensity (I) relative to a G band intensity (I), and the D band and the G band are obtained from a Raman spectrum of the anode active material layer.
