Abstract

A biopsy needle () comprises a cannula () with a distal end (), an inner needle () that has a sharpened distal end () and at least one biopsy cavity () that is located at a distance (L) from the sharpened distal end (). The cannula () and the inner needle () are configured so that the inner needle () is accommodated inside the cannula () and the inner needle () and the cannula () are movable with regard to each other. The inner needle () further comprises at least two measuring electrodes () for measuring a bioimpedance spectrum, the measuring electrodes () defining a measuring volume that is localized to the distal end () of the inner needle ().
