Abstract
An automotive heat exchanger () has a heat exchanger core () including a header part () with a plurality of heat transfer tubes () and a head tank () with an opening receives end portions of the heat transfer tubes (). A plastic header plate () is secured with the header tank () and header part (). The header plate () includes a plurality of apertures () extending through the plate () that enable fluid passage. Each aperture () includes a cutout portion () that receives an end of a heat transfer tube (). The cutout portion () has a complimentary shape to mate with the end of the heat transfer tube (). A seal (), in the cutout portion (), seals the end of the heat transfer tube () with the header plate ().
