Abstract

An electrophoretic display including a passive matrix formed of row and column electrodes with an electrophoretic medium including two types of differently-colored charged particles disposed between the row and column electrodes. When the device is driven to a first color state by providing a voltage differential of 15V, the color state is stable for voltage differentials between 15V and −5V. The display switches to the second color state when a voltage differential of −15V is provided.
