Abstract
With a battery using a flexible outer package, electric current is reliably interrupted when the temperature is increased due to the occurrence of abnormality, thereby preventing excessive heat generation. A batteryincludes a battery element, a pair of first terminalsthat are electrically connected to the battery element, a flexible outer package, and a second terminal. The outer packageis partitioned into a first chamberin which the battery elementis sealed and a second chamberwhich is adjacent to the first chamber. The second terminalis led out from the second chamberto the outside of the outer packageso that one first terminalis made electrically connectable to an external wiring through the second chamber. A gas generation materialwhich generates a gas at a predetermined temperature or higher is sealed in the second chamber
