Abstract
For display of a 3D model () in virtual reality (VR), merely converting the CAD display from the 2D screen to a 3D image may not sufficiently reduce the information clutter. To provide metadata for the 3D CAD model () with less occlusion or clutter, a separate space () is generated in the virtual reality environment. Metadata and information about the 3D CAD model () and/or selected part () of the 3D CAD model () is displayed () in the separate space (). The user may view the 3D CAD model () in one space (), the metadata with or without a representation of a part in another space (), or combinations thereof.
