Abstract
The cutting plateincludes a base bodymade of a sintered hard metal. On a top sideof the base bodythere are one or multiple intermediate layersthat include an adhesion-promoting layer. The adhesion-promoting layeris made of a boron-containing nitride of a transition metal of group IV, group V, and group VI, and contains a plurality of small platesoriented at an angle relative to the top side. A diamond layer that is grown on the adhesion-promoting layerincludes stalk-shaped crystals, oriented vertically relative to the top side, having an aspect ratio greater than three.
