Abstract

A viewing system () for a vehicle (A,B,C) having at least one capture unit (A,B) adapted to capture at least one first near area () around the vehicle (A,B,C), at least one control unit () adapted to process the data captured by the capture unit (A,B) and at least one reproduction unit (A,B) adapted to show the near area () visibly for a driver which steers the vehicle (A,B,C). During driving maneuvers conditioned by the situation, in addition, at least one collision area (K, K) which comprises an area at risk of collision around the vehicle (A,B,C) is shown on the reproduction unit (A,B). The collision area (K, K) corresponds to an image section of a near area () captured by the capture unit around the vehicle (A,B,C).
