Abstract

To provide an alarm system for a vehicle that can reduce alarms that can irritate a driver. An alarm systemfor a vehicle includes an alarm line setting partthat sets a right alarm lineand a left alarm linein front of a vehicle, and an alarm unit control partthat activates a speakerand a displaywhen the velocity of the vehicleis equal to or less than a predetermined velocity and a collision determination partdetermines that an object will cross the right alarm lineor the left alarm linewithin a predetermined time. When the vehicleis decelerating, the alarm unit control partperforms an alarm reduction control that suppresses operation of the speakercompared with when the vehicleis not decelerating.
