An oral care composition comprising a surfactant having formula [R(OCH)OSO]M wherein R is a saturated or unsaturated alkyl group with an alkyl chain length of 8 to 30 carbon atoms; x is from 0 to 10; and M is a divalent metal cation selected from zinc cations, copper cations and stannous cations is provided.
