Abstract

A biosensor device () for in situ monitoring of deep-water sea-floor biological patterns (), which biosensor platform () comprises a plurality of cameras () and a lightening system (), wherein a plurality of coral nubbins () with a plurality of polyps () are prepared and fixed to a platform () of the biosensor platform () with a distance to each other such that there is no overlap on a picture frame () thereof, and wherein the cameras () and the lightening system () are arranged so as to take coral-silhouette-pictures (CSP:s) of the plurality of nubbins () in the picture frame (). In this way, there is provided a biosensor device based on coral, or other deep-sea species, behavioural for surveillance and monitoring of a deep-water sea-floor.
