Abstract

In an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, an exhaust pipe is reliably bent and deformed during vehicle rear collision while improving drainage performance in the exhaust pipe in normal times. The exhaust systemincludes a second pipecorresponding to a downstream end part of an exhaust pipethrough which exhaust gas flows from an engine. The second pipeincludes: a fragile partas a starting point of bending deformation of a tail pipe; and a partition platevertically dividing the inside of the second pipeto form, under the partition plate, a lower passageto flow water that accumulates in the exhaust pipe.
