The invention relates to a method for associating tire sensor modules () with a trailer vehicle (), having at least the following steps: According to the invention, each tire sensor module () detects a wheel position associated with the respective tire sensor module () and a trailer axle configuration, so that for an accepted tire sensor module () the wheel position and the trailer axle configuration can be taken as a basis for making a positional association on the driver's own trailer vehicle ().
