Abstract
A lens holder assembly () and method of using the lens holder assembly () to mark an ophthalmic lens () is provided. The lens holder assembly () comprises a stem () having a central axis and a first opening () extending along the central axis of the body (), a second opening () integrated within the stem () such that the second opening () is substantially parallel to the first opening (), and at least one illumination source positioned within the second opening (). The illumination source is capable of emitting light through the second opening () for illuminating at least a portion of an ophthalmic lens (). At least a portion of the lens () is placed over the first opening (). Suction is applied to the lens (), and a marking is applied to a surface of the lens ().
