Abstract

A lighting system () for controlling an LED array () is disclosed. The lighting system () comprises the LED array () comprising a plurality of individually addressable light sources L-Leach having an individual address, a processor () configured to divide the plurality of individually addressable light sources L-Linto a plurality of segments () of light sources by assigning segment addresses to the segments () of light sources, wherein each segment comprises a unique set of one or more light sources, wherein the LED array () further comprises a receiver () configured to receive a plurality of lighting control signals via a network (), wherein each lighting control signal is addressed to one of the segment addresses, and wherein the LED array () further comprises a controller () configured to control at least one of the individually addressable light sources of each segment according to the lighting control signal addressed to the respective segment.
