Abstract

A cutting bead () for a saw rope () comprises a geometrically defined cutting portion () and tapers from the geometrically defined cutting portion () contrary to a sawing direction. With such cutting beads (), a saw rope () is formed. In a method for manufacturing a saw rope (), a cutting element () with a geometrically defined cutting portion () and an abrasive element () with a geometrically undefined cutting portion () or a neutral element () are joined. With the cutting element () and the abrasive element () or the neutral element (), a cutting bead () is formed. The cutting bead () is joined onto the support rope ().
