Abstract
An optical apparatusfor evanescently coupling an optical signal across an interfaceis described. The optical apparatuscomprises a first substrateand a second substrate. The optical signal is evanescently coupled between a first waveguideformed by laser inscription of the first substrateand a second waveguideof the second substrate. The first waveguidecomprises a curved sectionconfigured to provide evanescent coupling of the optical signal between the first and second waveguidesvia the interface
